From pictures of dead bodies and napalmed villages, to footage of soldiers breaking down mentally and physically, the media gave the public a front row seat to the horror of war. And it wasn't just the brutality that was highlighted, but also the political and social aspects of it too. The media brought debates about the role of America in the war, the morality of it, and the human cost of it all to the forefront of public discussion.

This type of coverage challenged the government's version of events, and ultimately played a role in turning public opinion against the war. The impact was so great that it spawned a new era of journalism that put the truth at the forefront, and gave the public a greater say in the political process.
