Michael Phelps is an incredible swimmer who has won a lot of Olympic gold medals during his career. In fact, he has won a total of 23 Olympic gold medals, which is more than any other Olympian in history! That's pretty amazing, right?
Phelps started swimming when he was just a kid, and he loved it right away. He worked really hard to become the best swimmer he could be, and it paid off big time. He first competed in the Olympics when he was just 15 years old, and he won his first gold medal four years later, at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
From there, Phelps went on to dominate the swimming world, winning gold medals in multiple events at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics. He even came out of retirement to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he won five more gold medals!
Phelps is known for his amazing swimming skills, but he's also a great athlete and a great person. He works hard, stays focused, and never gives up on his dreams. And that's what makes him a true champion.
