With platforms like YouTube and TikTok, anyone can upload their own funny videos and potentially reach millions of people. This has led to a democratization of comedy, where anyone with a good idea and a camera can create content and gain a following.

Social media has also changed the way that we consume comedy. Before, we would have to wait for a new episode of a comedy show to air on TV, or buy a comedy album to hear new material. Now, we can easily scroll through our feeds and stumble upon a hilarious video that a friend shared. This means that we have access to a much wider variety of comedic content than ever before.

Another way that technology has impacted the production and consumption of comical sketches is through the use of special effects. With CGI and other advanced technologies, comedians can create elaborate sketches with surreal visuals that would have been impossible to achieve in the past.
