What is Russia's position on nuclear disarmament?

Well, as far as I know, Russia has always been a major player in the field of nuclear disarmament. In recent times, Russia has committed to reducing its nuclear arsenal, although there have been some concerns about whether or not the country is truly living up to its promises.

Russia has been involved in numerous disarmament agreements, including the START Treaty and the New START Treaty. These agreements have been crucial in reducing the number of nuclear weapons in the world, which is always a good thing. However, some people are worried that Russia may be using these treaties to only reduce its overt nuclear warheads, while still retaining other types of nuclear weapons.

Recently, Russia has expressed concerns about the possibility of a new arms race with the US. President Putin has said that if the US pulls out of the New START Treaty, Russia will respond in a similar fashion. This would be a very dangerous development, as it could lead to a new arms race between the two countries.

Overall, it seems as though Russia is committed to nuclear disarmament, at least on the surface. However, there are always concerns about whether or not countries are truly living up to their promises. That being said, any effort to reduce the number of nuclear weapons in the world is a step in the right direction, and Russia's involvement in this process is certainly a positive development.
