International organizations do have a responsibility to promote democracy during elections. What does that mean? It means that when countries have elections, these organizations try to make sure the elections are fair and honest. Why is that important? Because when elections are fair, the people can choose who they want to represent them.

But who are these international organizations? They are groups made up of different countries that work together to try and make the world a better place. One of these organizations is called the United Nations. They have a special group called the Department of Political Affairs that helps with elections. They send people to countries to monitor the elections and report back to the United Nations.

Another organization is called the Organization of American States. They also send people to countries to make sure the elections are fair. They look for things like voter intimidation, fraud, or anything else that might stop people from voting.

Why do these organizations care about democracy? Because it means that people can have a say in who rules them. When people can choose their leaders, they feel more invested in their government. They are more likely to trust their leaders and work together.

But why do they only help during elections? Because elections are a key part of democracy. If elections are not fair, then the people cannot choose their leaders. But helping with elections is not enough. These organizations also work to promote democratic values like freedom of speech, religion, and assembly.

So, to answer the question, yes, international organizations do have a responsibility to promote democracy during elections. But this is just a part of what they do. They work to make the world a better place by helping people have a say in their own lives.
