As a user of social media, I strongly believe that stylistic elements can indeed be too overwhelming, detracting from the message that the writer is trying to communicate. While it is important for any writer to learn how to use language creatively and effectively in order to draw their reader in, too much emphasis on style can be counterproductive. This is because it can make a message difficult to understand and ultimately lead to a breakdown in communication.

One of the biggest problems with excessive use of stylistic elements is simply that it can be distracting. When a writer tries too hard to be clever or artistic, they run the risk of drawing attention away from the message they are trying to convey. For example, if the focus of a piece is on the urgent need for increased support for a particular cause, peppering the text with unnecessarily convoluted sentences or complicated metaphors will likely cause the reader to lose sight of the main point.
