Environmental factors like stress and nutrition have a big impact on how good we can be at doing tasks that need our brain to be "in charge". This is called "executive function".
Stress is like having a lot of worries or problems. When we're stressed out, our brain has a harder time thinking clearly and making good decisions. It's like having a fog over our brains and we can't see very well. This means we might not do things as well as we usually can, and we might make more mistakes.
Nutrition is all about the food we eat. When we eat healthy foods, our brains have more energy to work with and do things like remembering things or making decisions. But when we eat a lot of unhealthy foods, our brains don't have as much energy to work with. It's like trying to make a car go fast when it doesn't have enough gas. Our brains might be slower and not work as well as they could.
So, it's really important to try to reduce stress and eat healthy foods so our brains can work at their best. We can do things like talking to a friend or an adult when we're feeling stressed or anxious. We can also try to eat more fruits and vegetables instead of sugary or fatty foods. And when we take care of our brains, we can feel better, think more clearly, and do our best in everything we do!
