Have any countries withdrawn from the World Trade Organization in recent years, and if so, why?

Well, yes, there have been some countries that have left the WTO in the past few years. One of those countries is the United States. You might be wondering why they would leave such an important organization, right?

Well, it all has to do with how the WTO works. The United States felt like the other countries were treating them unfairly in terms of trade, so they decided to leave. The US claimed that the WTO doesn't do enough to protect American jobs and businesses.

Another country that left the WTO was the United Kingdom, also known as Britain. They left the WTO because they wanted to negotiate new trade deals with other countries on their own, without having to follow the rules set by the WTO.

So, that's why some countries have left the World Trade Organization. It's all about making sure each country feels like they're being treated fairly and that they have the ability to make their own trade deals if they want to.
