How do International kitchen gadgets affect the traditional method of preparing ethnic dishes?
Well, I think that international kitchen gadgets definitely have an impact on the traditional method of preparing ethnic dishes. For one, these gadgets make it easier to create dishes from different cultures without necessarily having all of the traditional tools on hand. For example, if you're making sushi and you don't have a bamboo mat, you can use a kitchen towel or even plastic wrap instead. The same goes for things like a tortilla press - if you don't have one, you can use a rolling pin instead.
Another thing to consider is that these gadgets often make it faster and more efficient to create certain dishes. Take a food processor, for example - it's an incredibly useful gadget for making hummus, which is a staple in Middle Eastern cuisine. Without a food processor, you'd have to mash the chickpeas by hand, which would take a lot longer and might not be as smooth.
Of course, there are also ways in which using international kitchen gadgets can detract from the authenticity of a dish. For example, if you use a spiralizer to make zucchini noodles instead of using a traditional mandoline to julienne them, the texture and even the taste of the dish might be different. And if you use a sous vide machine to cook a traditional dish that was meant to be cooked over an open flame, it might not have the same smoky flavor.
At the end of the day, I think that it's up to the individual cook to decide how much they want to rely on these gadgets. Some might argue that it's important to stick to traditional methods as much as possible, while others might argue that the goal is simply to create delicious dishes that capture the essence of a particular culture. For myself, I think that a balance of both is key - using gadgets as a way to make cooking easier and more efficient, but not relying on them to the point where the dish loses its authenticity.
