What role does monotheism play in modern society?

Well, I'm not an expert on religion, but from my personal observations, monotheism seems to play a pretty significant role in modern society, at least in certain cultures around the world.

So, what role does it play? Well, for starters, it can provide a sense of community and belonging for those who follow it. Religious institutions, like churches and mosques, can be a gathering place for people to come together and connect over shared beliefs.
