Many businesses relying on tourism are at risk of bankruptcy and job losses, especially in countries where tourism represents a significant part of their GDP.

Moving to North and South America, the impact of the pandemic on tourism has been quite severe. In the United States, entry restrictions, the closure of national parks, and the suspension of cruise lines have all contributed to the decline of the tourism industry. In South America, countries such as Brazil, Colombia, and Peru have all been struggling due to the closure of borders and the decrease in international visitors.
