Can authoritarianism ever be justified as a means to achieve better public policies?

No, authoritarianism (when one person or group has all the power and makes all the decisions) can never be justified as a way to make things better for everyone. It's important for everyone to have a say in how things are done, and for leaders to listen to the opinions and needs of the people they serve.

When one person or group takes over and makes all the decisions, they might not think about what's best for everyone, only what's best for themselves. This can lead to unfair treatment, like some people getting more rights and opportunities than others.

It's better for everyone to work together and listen to each other's ideas to make fair and just policies. People should always be able to express their opinions and have a say in what is being done.

Authoritarianism leads to problems, like oppression and denying people their basic rights. It's important to always fight against these kinds of actions and work towards creating a fair and just society.
