What is the history of commerce in mobile devices and consumer electronics?

Well, I believe the history of commerce in mobile devices and consumer electronics is quite fascinating. When I think about mobile devices, I can't help but remember my first flip phone, which I used to text my friends, check my emails, and even make phone calls. But now, mobile devices have transformed into much more than communication tools, they are also our wallets.

It all started back in 1997 when Coca-Cola installed vending machines in Helsinki that accepted mobile payments. However, it wasn't until 2007 when Apple introduced the first iPhone that the world would begin to see the capabilities of what mobile devices could truly accomplish. With the iPhone came the App Store, which provided individuals with an infinite number of possibilities for mobile commerce.

Moreover, e-commerce in consumer electronics has experienced a similar evolution. It all began back in 1984 when the CD-ROM was invented. This new technology allowed software vendors to sell their products via CD, eliminating the need for salespeople, physical product displays, and inventory. However, it wasn't until 1995 when Jeff Bezos founded Amazon.com that e-commerce truly took off. Amazon.com was initially a bookstore that sold its products online, and as its success grew, so did its product offerings.

Now, both mobile devices and consumer electronics are integral parts of the economy. Shopping with the use of these devices has become a norm, and I believe it will only continue to grow. As technology continues to advance, it's only a matter of time when augmented reality and chatbots will offer us a more immersive shopping experience - all from the comfort of our own homes.

All in all, the history of commerce in mobile devices and consumer electronics is fascinating and exciting. I'm eager to see what the future holds for e-commerce and how it will continue to evolve.
