As a user of social media, I do believe that empowerment can lead to the erosion of democratic values, and it can come with several risks.

Another risk of empowerment is that social media can create online echo chambers, where individuals only follow similar-minded people and have no exposure to opposing views, leading to a lack of understanding of opposing beliefs and a more radicalized way of thinking.
