What are the top reggae concerts happening this year?
As a passionate reggae music lover and frequent concert-goer, I can confidently say that there are some amazing reggae concerts happening this year. From legendary performers to up-and-coming artists, here are some of the top reggae events that I am looking forward to attending.
First off, it’s impossible to talk about reggae music without mentioning the one and only Bob Marley. Although he is no longer with us physically, his legacy and music continue to inspire and uplift millions of people around the world. This year, there are several tribute concerts happening in honor of Bob Marley’s contributions to the reggae genre. One that I am particularly excited about is the Bob Marley Tribute Concert in Kingston, Jamaica. This concert will feature some of Jamaica’s top reggae artists such as Chronixx, Protoje, and Kabaka Pyramid, paying tribute to the legendary Bob Marley in a truly Jamaican style.
Another reggae concert that I am eagerly anticipating is the Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay, Jamaica. This is one of the largest reggae music festivals in the world, and it attracts thousands of fans from all over the globe. The lineup this year includes some of the biggest names in reggae music such as Buju Banton, Beenie Man, and Spice. I’m excited to experience the energy and unity that always fills the air at this festival, and to witness some of the most iconic performers in reggae music do what they do best.
Aside from Jamaica, there are plenty of other countries hosting some incredible reggae concerts this year. One that I am particularly interested in is the Rototom Sunsplash in Benicàssim, Spain. This festival is known for its diverse lineup of reggae, dub, and other world music genres. The 2021 lineup includes some of my personal favorites such as Chronixx, Skatalites, and Groundation. I’m excited to see how the reggae music scene in Europe has evolved and grown, and to connect with like-minded music lovers from all over the world.
Last but not least, I can’t talk about reggae concerts without mentioning some of the up-and-coming talent that is setting the reggae scene ablaze. One artist that I am excited to see is Lila Ike, a rising reggae star from Jamaica. Her soulful vocals and socially conscious lyrics have been making waves in the reggae world, and I’m excited to see her perform live and witness her powerful stage presence.
In conclusion, there are plenty of amazing reggae concerts happening this year, both in Jamaica and around the world. From tribute concerts to music festivals to up-and-coming artists, there is something for everyone in the reggae community to enjoy. As a passionate reggae music lover, I can’t wait to experience the positive vibes, unity, and love that always fill the air at reggae concerts, and to connect with other music lovers from around the world who share my love of this beautiful genre of music.
