Can democracy truly exist without freedom?

Democracy and freedom go hand in hand. It is almost impossible to imagine one without the other. Democracy is the foundation of freedom, and freedom is a crucial ingredient for a functioning democracy. So, the answer to the question, "Can democracy truly exist without freedom?" is a resounding no.
