Are there any major challenges faced by researchers exploring the connection between geology and paleontology, and what are they?

Some researchers also face difficulties with funding and resources, as it can be quite expensive to conduct paleontological research. The cost of excavations, laboratory analysis, and fieldwork can all add up quickly, and not all institutions or funding bodies are willing or able to provide the necessary support. This can limit the scope and depth of research, as well as the ability to collaborate with scientists in other fields or locations.

Another challenge faced by paleontologists and geologists is the fact that the Earth's history is extremely complex and involves a multitude of factors that can be difficult to disentangle.
