Well, well, well, if it isn't the question that has been on everyone's mind since the beginning of this year– What were the most surprising election results this year and why? As a social media user, I cannot help but share my thoughts on this burning topic.

First and foremost, let us talk about the United States Presidential election. The world watched in shock and awe as Donald Trump was elected as the 45th President of the United States. Many had predicted a win for Hilary Clinton, but boy were we all wrong. In my opinion, the reason why this result was so surprising was due to the fact that it was highly unprecedented. Trump's controversial past and policies had many people thinking that he was not a suitable candidate for the Presidency, but somehow he still managed to snag the win.

Now, let's talk about elections in other parts of the world that had equally shocking results. In France, Emmanuel Macron's win in the Presidential election came as a surprise to many. Macron's policy ideas were new and different from what had been offered by other candidates, and his victory symbolized a break from the traditional left-right politics that had dominated France for years. Who knew that a 39-year-old who formed his own party only two years before he was elected would become the youngest French President ever?

Lastly, I cannot ignore the results of the Indian state elections this year. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi won in four out of the five states that went to polls. What made this win so surprising was the fact that one of the states, Uttar Pradesh, had been ruled by the opposing party, the Indian National Congress, for over 15 years. Modi's strategy of focusing on development and economic growth proved to be a game-changer in these elections.

In conclusion, this year's election results have been nothing short of surprising. From the United States to France to India, candidates who were seen as underdogs were able to emerge as victors. It just goes to show that nothing in politics is certain, and that the power ultimately lies in the hands of the people.
