What are the most sustainable seafood options available in your area?

Well, I live in a coastal area, so there's a lot of seafood options available here. As a conscious consumer, sustainability is certainly a factor I consider before selecting my seafood. Luckily, there are some fantastic sustainable seafood options available in my area!

Firstly, I should mention that sustainable seafood is typically caught or farmed in a way that doesn't harm other marine life or the environment. This is important because overfishing and destructive fishing practices can cause a lot of damage to our oceans. So, if you're looking for sustainable options, here are some that I'd recommend:

1. Oysters. Oysters are a great sustainable option because they're filter feeders that actually improve water quality. Plus, they're really delicious and versatile - you can eat them raw, grilled or cooked in many different ways.

2. Pacific Alvaco Tuna. Tuna is a popular fish and it can be quite tricky to find sustainable options. However, Pacific Alvaco Tuna is a great choice as it's caught using pole-and-line fishing methods which helps reduce bycatch.

3. Mussels. Mussels are a great option because they're easy to farm in an environmentally responsible way. They're also full of protein and minerals, and they're affordable too!

4. Atlantic Mackerel. Atlantic Mackerel is a sustainable fish species that's high in protein and omega-3 fatty acids. It's also really versatile and can be cooked in many different ways.

Of course, these are just a few of the sustainable seafood options available in my area. These logos let you know that the seafood you're buying has been caught or farmed responsibly and sustainably.

In addition to selecting sustainable seafood options, there are some things you can do to reduce the impact of your seafood consumption on the environment. For example, you can:
