How do modern-day inhabitants of Timbuktu balance their traditional culture and the influences of globalization?

Well, I think it's really interesting to think about how people in Timbuktu are navigating this balance between holding onto their traditional cultural identities and being influenced by globalization. From what I've read and heard, it seems like many people in Timbuktu are proud of their heritage and want to preserve it, but at the same time, they recognize the benefits that globalization can bring.

One example that comes to mind is the music scene in Timbuktu. Music has always been a huge part of the culture there, and many musicians have been able to find success outside of the region. At the same time, though, there are efforts being made to preserve traditional styles of music and to make sure that younger generations are learning how to play them.

Another example is the way that people are dressing. Traditional clothing styles are still very popular in Timbuktu, but there are also more modern trends that are popping up. I think it's really cool to see how people are blending these different styles together to create something unique.

Overall, I think that people in Timbuktu are doing a good job of balancing their traditional culture with the influences of globalization. It's not always easy to find that middle ground, but I think that the people there are working hard to make sure that their heritage is preserved while also staying open to new ideas and influences.
