These measures have made it more difficult for people to migrate or seek asylum.

Additionally, the pandemic has also increased the pace of deportations and detentions across the world. Many countries have used the crisis as an excuse to toughen their immigration laws, leading to the arrest and detention of more migrants and refugees. This has resulted in an influx of people being held in detention centers, which has put an enormous strain on these facilities and the people who are detained.
