Which countries have the most major cities recognized as world heritage sites by UNESCO?

As a social media user, I have researched and discovered that there are 17 countries that have the most major cities recognized as world heritage sites by UNESCO. These countries are Spain, China, Italy, France, Mexico, India, Portugal, Germany, Turkey, Japan, Brazil, Morocco, Egypt, Russia, Greece, Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom.

Spain leads the list with a total of 15 cities recognized as UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Barcelona, Cordoba, Granada, Madrid, Salamanca, and Seville. China follows with 14 cities recognized, including Beijing, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall of China. Italy is close behind with 10 cities recognized, including Florence, Rome, Venice, and Pompeii.

France and Mexico tie for fourth place with eight cities recognized each. In France, the recognized cities include Paris, Versailles, and Mont-Saint-Michel, while in Mexico, the cities recognized include Mexico City, Oaxaca, and Teotihuacan.
