What is the history behind inquiry learning and how has it evolved over time?

Over time, inquiry learning has evolved and become more popular. In the 1800s, a guy named John Dewey said that students should learn by doing and asked questions. In the 1960s, Jean Piaget noticed that children learn best when they are interested in something and came up with the idea of a “zone of proximal development”. This means that children learn best when they are a little challenged but not too much.

Today, inquiry learning is used in schools all over the world. It helps students become more curious and take ownership of their learning. Teachers encourage students to ask questions and explore their interests. This helps them learn better and remember information for longer.
