How has contemporary poetry evolved and adapted to modern society?

Well, I'm no expert in poetry, but from my point of view as a user of social media, I think that contemporary poetry has adapted to modern society in several ways.

First off, the way we consume poetry has drastically changed. In the past, poetry was something that was mostly read in books or recited in front of an audience. With the rise of social media, however, poetry has become more accessible than ever. Nowadays, people can find and read poems online, share them with others on various platforms, and even discover new poets they might not have heard of otherwise. Social media has made poetry more democratic, in a way.

Another way that contemporary poetry has evolved is in terms of its themes and topics. In the past, poetry was often focused on grandiose themes, such as love, beauty, and God. While these themes still exist, contemporary poetry also deals with more mundane and personal issues. Poets now write about topics like mental health, feminism, and social justice. These themes not only reflect the concerns of modern society but also make poetry more relatable to a wider audience.

Moreover, contemporary poetry has also evolved in terms of its language and form. While traditional forms like the sonnet and the haiku still exist, contemporary poets have experimented with new forms and styles that reflect the changing times.
