What would happen if everyone followed the Golden rule, and is that an achievable goal?

If everyone followed the Golden Rule, the world would be a better place. For those who aren't familiar with it, the Golden Rule is the principle of treating others as one would wish to be treated oneself, and it’s a concept that dates back centuries. It's a simple idea, yet if practiced by everyone, it has the power to create a happier and more harmonious society.

In an ideal world, everyone would have learnt to put themselves in other people's shoes and show kindness and generosity. We would be empathetic to each other's needs and work towards creating a more caring and compassionate world. We would spread love and kindness and create a ripple effect that would inspire others to do the same.

However, the reality is that not everyone will follow the Golden Rule, and it's not an achievable goal in the sense that we cannot control other people's actions. We can only control our own actions and lead by example. We can strive to be the change we want to see and hope that others follow suit. We can also teach our children the importance of treating others with kindness and empathy, thus laying the foundation for a better future.

It's a daunting task to imagine getting everyone in the world to follow the Golden Rule, considering the diversity of beliefs and values. Yet, if we were to focus on small communities or even just our own circle of friends and family, we could create a significant impact.

It's essential to understand that following the Golden Rule does not mean we need to agree on everything with everyone or tolerate everything.
