One of the most important festivals was the Inti Raymi, which celebrated the sun god and was held at the summer solstice.

In addition to worshiping their gods, the Inca people also believed in the concept of ancestor worship. They believed that their ancestors were watching over them and helping them, and so they would make offerings to their ancestors to keep them happy.

Religion also played a role in Inca politics. The ruler of the Inca Empire had to be chosen by the gods, and so the high priest of the Inca religion was also a very powerful person. The Inca ruler would often consult with the high priest on important issues, and the high priest would help make decisions based on what the gods wanted.
