As a user of social media, I believe that technology has brought a lot of advantages to political communication. Firstly, it has improved the speed and reach of political messages. Previously, politicians communicated through TV and newspapers, which have a limited reach. However, with the advent of social media, politicians can get more engagement and reach a wider audience with their messages in real-time. This is especially important during elections when candidates need to communicate their message quickly and effectively to as many voters as possible.

Secondly, technology has led to the democratization of political communication. Voters can now communicate their opinions directly to politicians without the need for intermediaries. For instance, citizens can tweet their representatives, post comments on Facebook or Instagram, and make their voices heard on a range of social networks. This has enabled people who were previously excluded from the political conversation to participate, which is vital in a democracy.

Moreover, technology has made it easier for politicians to connect with their supporters. Candidates can share their vision directly with voters, build up more personal relationships, and engage with voters on social media. This kind of interaction humanizes politicians and makes them more approachable. It also helps politicians to demonstrate authenticity, thereby giving voters a sense of what they stand for.

This phenomenon can undermine people's confidence in their political system and undermine democracy.
