Can philosophical skepticism be applied to other fields beyond Metaphysics and Ontology?

Philosophical skepticism is something that people do when they doubt things. They might doubt something someone tells them or something they read in a book. They do this because they want to make sure they are getting the right information.

Usually, you hear about philosophical skepticism being used in the fields of metaphysics and ontology. These are big words, but they basically mean thinking about the world and reality. So, people who think a lot about these things might use philosophical skepticism to make sure they are really understanding what is happening.

But, can philosophical skepticism be used in other fields too? Yes! People can use it in all kinds of fields where they need to make sure they are getting the right information. For example, scientists use it all the time when they are doing experiments. They want to make sure their results are accurate, so they doubt anything that doesn't seem quite right.

People who work in medicine also use philosophical skepticism. They might doubt a diagnosis if it doesn't seem to fit with all the symptoms they are seeing. This helps them make sure they are treating their patients correctly.

Even in everyday life, people use philosophical skepticism. Maybe you hear a rumor at school and you're not sure if it's true. You might doubt it until you can find out more information.

So, even though we usually hear about philosophical skepticism being used in certain fields, it can actually be helpful anytime someone needs to make sure they are getting the right information.
