How has the use of youth language changed over time?

Over time, young people have been creating their own language to communicate with each other. This language is often called "youth language" or "slang".

In the past, youth language was often seen as improper or unacceptable by adults. Older people thought that young people should speak "properly" instead of using slang words. However, over time, this view has started to change.

Nowadays, many young people use slang words and phrases in their everyday conversations. These words often change quickly and can be quite different from what is considered "proper" English. Some examples of youth language include "lit" (meaning something is exciting or awesome), "savage" (meaning someone did something impressive or cool), and "tea" or "spill the tea" (meaning gossip or information).

One reason for the change in attitude towards youth language could be the influence of social media. With platforms like Twitter and Instagram, young people are able to share their own language and slang with a wider audience. As a result, some slang words and phrases have even become part of mainstream culture.

Despite this, there are still some people who view youth language negatively. Some believe that it shows a lack of respect or intelligence. However, others argue that it is simply a way for young people to express themselves and connect with their peers.

Ultimately, the use of youth language has changed over time to become more accepted and widespread. While there may still be some negative views towards slang, it is clear that young people will continue to create their own unique language to connect and communicate with each other.
