When we talk about social activism in the modern age, there are numerous individuals who have made significant contributions towards the progress of society. The most influential social activists of modern time may vary according to personal interests, opinions and beliefs.

In my opinion, one of the most inspiring social activists of the modern age is Malala Yousafzai, a young Pakistani woman who became an advocate for girls' education in her homeland and became the youngest Nobel Peace Prize Laureate in 2014 at the age of 17. Despite being shot by Taliban militants, Malala continued to fight for girls' right to education and has become a symbol of hope for millions of young girls around the world who face discrimination and oppression.

Another influential woman in social activism is Tarana Burke, the founder of the #MeToo movement which is a global platform that highlights the experiences of sexual harassment and assault survivors, and advocates for creating safer workplaces and communities for women. Through the #MeToo movement, Tarana has given a voice to millions of women who have been silenced and created a pathway for change through policy changes and societal transformation.

A key figure in environmental activism is Greta Thunberg, a 17-year-old girl from Sweden who has inspired a global movement of young people fighting for climate justice and sustainable development.
