Can we measure the success of environmental policies and legislation by looking at the country's adherence to environmental ethics?

Of course, we can measure the success of environmental policies and laws by checking if people in the country are following the rules that are meant to protect the environment. Adherence means following the rules, and environmental ethics means doing what's right for the environment.

For example, if a country has a law that says people can't throw trash in rivers, we can measure if people are following this law by checking the rivers. If we see a lot of trash in the rivers, then people are not adhering to the rule, and the law is not successful in protecting the environment.

The same goes for environmental ethics. If people in a country care about the environment and are willing to make sacrifices to protect it, then that country is more likely to have successful environmental policies and laws. This is because people are more likely to adhere to rules and follow ethical principles when they believe in the cause.

So, if we want to measure the success of environmental policies and laws, we need to look at if people are following the rules and if they care about the environment. If we see that they are, then we can say that the policies and laws are successful. If not, then they need to work on making people care more about the environment and adhere to the rules.
