Which companies are leading the way in hydrokinetic energy research and development?

Well, from what I've been reading lately, there are a few companies that seem to be making some headway in the world of hydrokinetic energy. One of them is called Resolute Marine Energy, and they're based in the United States. They've been working on developing a device called the Surge WEC, which is essentially a big buoy that captures energy from ocean waves. From what I understand, they've done some successful tests and are now trying to commercialize their technology.

Another company that's come up a lot in my research is SABELLA, which is a French firm that's focused on tidal energy. They've developed what they call an "underwater turbine," which looks kind of like a propeller. The idea is that it can be placed in areas where there are strong ocean currents and generate electricity via the movement of the water. I'm not totally clear on how it works exactly, but it seems like they've been getting some positive results in their testing.

There are a few other companies that I've seen mentioned in various articles and reports, like Ocean Power Technologies and Atlantis Resources, but I don't know as much about them. It seems like there are a lot of different approaches being taken to hydrokinetic energy, and it's still a pretty nascent field overall. But it's exciting to see companies trying to innovate and find ways to generate clean energy from our oceans!
