Hey there, sports fans! Are you curious about how different countries stack up in athletic achievements over the past decade? Well, I’ve got some juicy deets for you!

First things first, let’s talk about the Olympic Games. We all know that’s where the best of the best come to compete. In the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, the USA came out on top with a whopping 121 medals (46 gold, 37 silver, and 38 bronze). China followed behind with 70 medals (26 gold, 18 silver, and 26 bronze), and Great Britain took third with 67 medals (27 gold, 23 silver, and 17 bronze). Overall, the top ten countries with the most medals were: USA, China, Great Britain, Russia, Germany, Japan, France, South Korea, Italy, and Australia. Can you believe it?!

But, wait, there’s more! Let’s talk about another major world event: the FIFA World Cup. The most recent one took place in 2018 in Russia, and boy was it a thrill ride. In the end, France took home the championship, beating Croatia 4-2 in the final. Other top teams included Belgium (who took third place), England, Brazil, Uruguay, and Sweden. It was definitely a nail-biting event!

Aside from these huge events, there are also plenty of other international competitions where different countries can show off their athletic prowess. One example is the World Championships in Athletics, held every two years. In the most recent championship, hosted in Doha, Qatar in 2019, the USA once again came out on top with 14 gold medals, followed by Kenya with 5 gold medals and Jamaica with 4 gold medals. Other countries with impressive showings included China, Great Britain, Germany, and the Netherlands.

So, what can we gather from all this information? Well, it’s clear that certain countries consistently dominate in the athletic world, such as the USA, China, and Great Britain. However, there are plenty of other countries that have made significant strides in the past decade, such as France and Belgium in the FIFA World Cup, or Kenya and Jamaica in the World Championships in Athletics.

Overall, it’s pretty clear that the past decade has been chock-full of exciting moments in the world of sports. Will we see the same countries continue to dominate in the next decade, or will new contenders rise to the top? Only time will tell, my friends.
