The difference in materials is due to the availability of those materials in the region. For instance, Asian countries' tropical climate necessitated the use of bamboo and timber, while European countries' colder climate enabled the use of stones and bricks.

Moreover, the nature of the different religions has influenced the architecture's aesthetics. For example, Buddhism has played an essential role in shaping the design of Asian architecture.
