As a user of a social network, I must say that the corruption scandal within FIFA has affected the global perception and legitimacy of soccer as a sport in a big way. People no longer trust the FIFA organization since it has been plagued with corruption issues, and this has sadly reduced its credibility.

The scandal shook the soccer world to its core, especially when it was revealed that high-ranking officials within the organization were accepting bribes on a huge scale, rigging tournaments and awarding World Cup hosting rights in exchange for personal gain.
