The biggest threat to the world's oceans right now is pollution. Pollution is when things like trash, oil, and chemicals get into the water and can harm the animals and plants that live there. Polluted water can also make people sick if they swim or fish in it.

Luckily, there are things we can do to help stop pollution and protect our oceans. One thing is to make sure to throw trash in the garbage can and not on the ground or in the water. We can also use reusable bags and water bottles instead of disposable ones that could end up in the ocean.

Another thing we can do is to be careful with the things we use around our house. We should make sure not to use too much fertilizer or pesticides on our lawns, because these can wash into the ocean and harm the animals and plants there. We can also use non-toxic cleaning products and not pour harmful chemicals down the drain.
