How can democratic countries balance the protection of minority rights and the will of the majority?

Democratic countries need to make sure that everyone's rights are being protected, even if they are not in the majority. That means that just because more people want something, it doesn't mean it's always the right thing to do.

One way to balance it is to have laws that protect everyone's rights, no matter who they are. This way, even if the majority wants something that would hurt a certain group of people, the law wouldn't allow it.

Another way is to have a system of checks and balances. This means that there are different parts of the government, and they all make sure that the other parts are doing the right thing. For example, if the majority wants to pass a law that would hurt a certain group of people, the courts could step in and say that it's not allowed because it violates people's rights.

Lastly, it's important for everyone to have a say. Even if someone is in the minority, their voice should still be heard. That way, everyone feels like they have a say in what happens, and it's not just the majority making all the decisions.
