For example, while genes may make an individual more predisposed to addiction, their environment and upbringing also play a significant role. Someone who lives in a household where alcohol or drugs are readily available or who grows up around people who engage in addictive behaviors is more likely to develop an addiction, even if they don't have the genes for it.

Similarly, although criminal tendencies may have a genetic component, social factors such as poverty or exposure to violence can also contribute. Some people may turn to crime as a means of survival or due to a lack of opportunities, despite not having a genetic predisposition for criminal behavior.

Overall, I think it's important to recognize that while genetics can influence behavior and personality traits to some extent, they are not the sole determining factor. Environmental factors, such as upbringing, social influences, and access to resources, also play a significant role. It's a complex interplay between nature and nurture, and we should strive to understand and address all factors that contribute to these behaviors and traits.
