One of the biggest things that I think we can take away from those countries is the importance of a comprehensive and collaborative approach to environmental management.

For example, I recently read about a program in Tanzania where farmers and government officials are working together to restore degraded lands using a combination of agroforestry, improved soil management techniques, and community-based conservation efforts. This kind of bottom-up approach seems to be working really well in Tanzania, and I think there is a lot we can learn from it.

Another thing that I think is really important when it comes to reversing land degradation is investing in education and outreach. In many cases, people who live in areas affected by land degradation simply don't have the knowledge or resources they need to implement effective conservation measures.

In Ethiopia, for example, there is a program called the Tigray Project which has successfully restored tens of thousands of hectares of degraded lands over the past two decades.
