How has the COVID-19 pandemic affected EDM music and live shows?
Well, let me tell you, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a HUGE impact on EDM music and live shows! It's like someone hit the "pause" button on the entire industry.
Before the pandemic hit, there were EDM festivals happening all around the world, with artists from all over coming together to put on a show for their fans. From Tomorrowland to Ultra Music Festival, there was always a crazy lineup of DJs ready to get the crowd jumping and screaming.
But then everything changed. The pandemic came and suddenly, the idea of being in a packed crowd, dancing and sweating with thousands of other people, became a nightmare. All the major festivals were either cancelled, postponed, or moved to virtual events.
And it wasn't just the festivals that were impacted. DJs and producers had to cancel their tours, and many even started livestreaming sets from their homes. While it's been great to see some of our favorite artists in more intimate settings, it's just not the same as being there in person.
But you know what? The EDM community has proven to be resilient. We've adapted to the new normal and found ways to still connect with each other through the music. We've seen drive-in raves, socially-distanced concerts, and even virtual festivals with crazy stages and insane light shows.
Even though the pandemic has brought new challenges and changed the way we experience live music, I believe that it's also shown the power of music to bring people together. No matter what the future holds, one thing is for sure: the beat goes on!
