Are there any countries with particularly positive histories when it comes to treating immigrants fairly?

Well, it's a tricky question to answer. While there are definitely countries that prioritize humanitarianism and offer programs aimed at benefitting immigrants, I wouldn't say there's a country out there that hasn't had its fair share of problematic and discriminatory behavior in regards to immigration.

However, some countries do stand out for their efforts towards integrating immigrants and creating policies that encourage diversity and inclusion. For instance, Canada is often praised for its welcoming attitude towards immigrants, with over 20% of its population consisting of immigrants. The country's immigration system is designed to attract people of various backgrounds and skills, and their government has implemented programs to help refugees and asylum seekers.

New Zealand is another country known for its progressive and open-minded approach to immigration. The nation's treaty of Waitangi forms the basis of its relations with Maori communities, who make up a significant portion of the country's population. Additionally, the government has made efforts towards improving access to education and job opportunities for immigrants.

Australia is often ranked highly in terms of immigration policies, thanks in large part to its multiculturalism and diverse population. Its government has established programs aimed at helping refugees and immigrants settle into the country, and the nation is known for its support of multiculturalism and anti-discrimination measures.

However, it's important to note that even these countries have faced criticism and backlash in regards to immigration policies. For example, Canada has been critiqued for its lack of support for minority groups within its immigrant population, and Australia has been accused of human rights violations in its detention centers for asylum seekers.

At the end of the day, no country is perfect when it comes to treating immigrants fairly.
