As a regular user of social media, I believe that the government of a climate-vulnerable city can certainly take measures to protect its citizens from the negative effects of climate change. However, I also think that it is not only the responsibility of the government to take actions but also the duty of every citizen to contribute to a sustainable lifestyle.

Many cities in the world are exposed to different climate hazards such as storms, floods, droughts, and heatwaves. Therefore, governments must create holistic policies to address these threats by incorporating sustainable development practices. For instance, by promoting green infrastructure, reducing energy consumption, improving public transportation, and promoting eco-friendly behaviors, cities can implement a comprehensive approach to mitigate these risks.

Sustainable urban development can also enhance preparedness for future climate events and encourage community resilience. Community participation and inclusivity must be key factors in the decision-making process to ensure that all communities have access to the necessary resources and information.
