In the past, a person had to mentally prepare themselves to write a letter, sit, collect their thoughts and then put pen to paper. This process consumed time and energy. Additionally, the process of posting and receiving the response took several days to complete. The telegram, though faster, was still more time-consuming than SMS. In comparison, SMS is quick and straightforward. We can send a message in seconds and receive a response in just as quickly.

The speed and flexibility of SMS have provided a more convenient way of communication than traditional forms of communication. It has become an essential part of our lives because of the ease of access it provides for people of all ages. As a result, SMS has become the primary mode of communication for a vast segment of the population.

Moreover, SMS has brought changes in the way we perceive communication, replacing the need for face-to-face communication. SMS has become a platform for sharing emotional thoughts, and therefore, is now comparable to more traditional methods like sending cards or letters filled with emotions and heartfelt messages.
