One of my personal favorites is Laos. It's a landlocked country in Southeast Asia that's often overshadowed by its more popular neighbors like Thailand and Vietnam. But Laos has so much to offer for adventure seekers, from trekking through lush jungles to kayaking down rapids to exploring ancient temples. And because it's not as touristy as other countries in the region, you can really immerse yourself in the local culture and get to know the friendly locals.

Another hidden gem is Kyrgyzstan, a small country in Central Asia. It's a paradise for hikers and mountaineers, with breathtaking landscapes of snow-capped mountains and alpine lakes. You can even stay in yurts with local families and experience the traditional nomadic way of life. And the best part? It's still relatively undiscovered by tourists, so you can have the trails all to yourself.

If you're looking for something closer to home, check out Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada. This rugged and remote province on the east coast is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with opportunities for hiking, kayaking, fishing, and even whale watching. And because it's not as popular with tourists as other parts of Canada, you can really get away from the crowds and enjoy the natural beauty.
