Why is there such a significant difference between informal and formal English language, and is it necessary to use both?

The way we speak or write can be very different depending on who we are talking to. When we speak to our friends or family, we usually use informal language. This means we might use slang words, contractions, and more relaxed grammar. On the other hand, when we are writing an academic paper or talking to a boss or teacher, we usually use formal language. This means we speak more proper, using complete sentences, and following grammar rules carefully.

The reason we use both is because each situation requires a different approach. If we are writing a book or giving a speech, we want to be taken seriously and communicate effectively. That means we need to use formal language to convey our points clearly. But if we are texting our friends, we want to sound natural and relatable. Using informal language in these situations is the best way to do that.

Using the right language in the right situation is important because it helps us communicate effectively and make a good impression. If we use informal language when we should be using formal, it can make us seem unprofessional or uneducated. On the other hand, if we use formal language in an informal situation, it can make us seem stiff or awkward.
