Are there any Civil Rights organizations that still operate underground in the US?

As a user of social media, I can say with confidence that there are indeed still Civil Rights organizations that operate underground in the US. While many may believe that the Civil Rights movement ended decades ago after the passage of landmark legislation such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965, the reality is that discrimination and oppression continue to affect marginalized communities to this day.

In fact, recent events such as the killing of George Floyd by a police officer and the subsequent protests across the country have brought renewed attention to the ongoing struggle for Civil Rights in the US. While larger organizations such as the NAACP and ACLU play an important role in advocating for equality and justice, there are also smaller, more discreet groups operating behind the scenes.

These underground Civil Rights organizations often focus on issues specific to their communities and may use unconventional methods to achieve their goals. For example, there are groups working to combat police brutality and racial profiling by monitoring law enforcement activities and holding them accountable for their actions. Others focus on providing legal aid and support to individuals who have experienced discrimination in housing, employment, or education.

One of the challenges these underground organizations face is the risk of being targeted by law enforcement or other groups opposed to the Civil Rights movement.
