How has technology affected the role of designers in society?

One of the biggest ways that technology has affected designers is by giving them a much wider range of tools and resources to work with. Design software such as Adobe Creative Suite has made it easier than ever for designers to create stunning visual designs, and programs like Sketch have made it much easier for designers to prototype and test out various designs before actually building them.

At the same time, technology has also made it easier for designers to collaborate with one another, no matter where they happen to be in the world. Tools like Slack and Dropbox make it a breeze to share files and ideas with one another, and platforms like GitHub allow designers to collaborate on code and other technical projects.

Another way that technology has affected designers is by changing the way we consume and interact with design. Thanks to the rise of smartphones and other mobile devices, we're constantly surrounded by designs in everything from our web browsing to the apps we use on a daily basis. As a result, designers need to be much more aware of the need for responsive design and user experience design, since these are the key factors that determine how successful their designs will be.

Some people might argue that technology has made it more difficult for designers to stand out, since there are so many design resources and templates available online. However, I believe that this isn't entirely true - while it's true that there's more competition than ever, I also think that the best designers will always find a way to stand out from the crowd.
