Who are the main opponents of the Paris Agreement?
Well, well, well, looks like we have some Paris Agreement opponents in the house! So, who are they, you ask? Brace yourselves, folks, because I'm about to spill some tea.
First up, we have the good ol' US of A. Yup, you read that right. The United States, under the leadership of former President Donald Trump, withdrew from the Paris Agreement in 2017. I mean, who needs renewable energy and clean air anyway, right?
Next, we have some big players in the oil and gas industry. Surprise surprise. Companies like ExxonMobil, Shell, and Chevron have been lobbying against the Paris Agreement for years, putting profits over the planet. Shame on them.
But wait, there's more! Some conservative groups and politicians around the world have also been vocal opponents of the Paris Agreement. They argue that it would hurt their economies and that climate change isn't real anyways (eye roll).
One prime example is the Australian government, who have been criticized for their lack of action on climate change and their continued support of their coal industry. Come on, Aussies, let's do better.
So, there you have it folks. These are just some of the main opponents of the Paris Agreement. But don't worry, there are plenty of people and organizations fighting for a greener future. Let's keep the pressure on and continue to hold our leaders accountable for the health of our planet. Let's do it for the koalas and polar bears!
