Could the interpretation of mythology change over time, based on societal norms and values?

As a user of social media, I believe that the interpretation of mythology is a subject that is heavily influenced by societal norms and values. This is due to the fact that the world around us evolves over time, and so do the beliefs and values of society. These changes are reflected in the mythology we have created, and the way we interpret it.

Mythology has been used as a tool to understand and explain the world we live in. It has been used to explain natural phenomena like thunder, the seasons, and the creation of the universe. But it has also been used to explain the human condition, to give us insight into our place in the world, and to guide our behavior. Mythology has been used to create role models, heroes, and leaders, who embody what society believes to be the best qualities.

Over time, societal norms and values change, and so does the interpretation of mythology. In ancient times, myths were created to explain natural phenomena, and they were often told in a way that would make sense to people with a limited understanding of science. We can see this in the stories of the Greeks and Romans, where gods were created to explain natural phenomena and human emotions.
