Who do you think is the ultimate TV trivia expert: a superfan or a cast member? Why?

Well, well, well! Who would have thought that this question would pop up on my feed today? As a self-professed TV addict, this is a question that hits close to home.

Before we get into it, let's clarify something first. What exactly is a superfan? Is it just someone who watches the show religiously or is it someone who can name all the episodes and recite every line from memory? And what about a cast member? Does simply being a part of the show automatically make them the ultimate TV trivia expert?

In my humble opinion, it really comes down to what kind of TV trivia you're talking about. If it's general knowledge, such as the plot, main characters, and major storylines, then I would have to give the edge to the superfan.

I mean, let's be real. Superfans are out here doing the most. They're not just watching the show, they're analyzing it. They're scouring the internet for behind-the-scenes tidbits, following the show's social media accounts, and even attending conventions and meet-and-greets with the cast. They're invested in the story and the characters, and that kind of passion lends itself well to being a walking encyclopedia of TV knowledge.

On the other hand, cast members are undoubtedly experts in their own right. They're the ones living and breathing the show every day, reading scripts, rehearsing lines, and filming scenes. They have a firsthand experience of what it's like to bring a character to life, and can probably answer questions about their own character better than any superfan.

However, when it comes to the nitty-gritty details, like obscure references, minor characters and random Easter eggs, I think the superfan takes the cake. Cast members may not have the luxury of watching the show with the same level of detachment as a viewer, and may not have the same level of obsession with the show's every detail.

At the end of the day, I think it's a close call. It really depends on what kind of trivia you're looking for, but as someone who spends way too much time binge-watching TV, I have to give the superfan the edge.
